Borotín - castle and farmstead
The Old Castle of Borotín ("Pinewoodton") is a castle from 14th century, now a ruin kept by a local club. It used to be our favorite stop and a night hideout when we went wandering to Česká Sibiř ("Czech Siberia"). If one did not find a place for sleep in the large castle cellar, smoke-stained by hiker's fireplaces, or in a hall with view to a pond, then he still had an opportunity to go to nearby devastated farmstead for night. As life returns to these places, a small fee for sleeping at the castle is necessary and the farmstead again belongs to someone now.
