Šnýdl in Močálka, Prague

Largest and most complex part of remaining sandstone underground of Prosek ("Hewt"), a labyrinth of narrow passages and underground quarries on the edge of cretaceous basin is called "Močálka" ("Swampy"). It is because of a canalisation breakdown in 1980s, which also started a new wave of underground exploration in this area. In one of Močálka's dead ends is a little carved room, previously concealed by inconspicuous stone door. It is called "Šnýdl" and a rumor says, that "K. und K." deserters used this place as a hideout during first World War.
