In Požáry quarries

Complex of Požáry ("Blazes") quarries, a protected natural monument, lies on upper side of Daleje valley at outskirts of Prague. Limestone mining started under company "Bárta and Tichý", quarries were later passed to Prastav and after nationalization included to Radotín cement factory company. The complex consisted of three quarries connected by haul drifts with narrow-gauge tracks. Today, just two remain, one of them half filled up. A pretty place with entrance through arch-like tunnel lured even filmmakers.
